Sundarban 2 Nights 3 Days Package — Most Popular Tour

The Sundarban 2 nights 3 days package is our most popular and recommended tour for anyone visiting the Sundarbans for the first time. Starting from ₹5,500 per person, this 3-day immersive experience gives you the best balance of time, value, and wildlife spotting opportunity. You will cover all four major watchtowers, take multiple boat safaris through different creek systems, walk the famous Dobanki canopy walk, visit local fishing villages, and enjoy two evenings of authentic Sundarban culture — all at a pace that feels unhurried and deeply satisfying.

There is a reason this is our bestseller. With three days in the Sundarbans, you maximise your chances of spotting the Royal Bengal Tiger. Our experienced guides take you through known tiger corridors at dawn when the big cats are most active. You also get to explore areas that shorter tours simply cannot reach — deeper creeks, remote watchtowers, and the spectacular Panchamukhani junction where five rivers converge.

Complete 2N3D Itinerary — Day by Day

Day 1 — Kolkata to Sundarban, Arrival and Evening Safari

  • 7:30 AM: Pickup from Kolkata (Indian Museum/Science City area) in our AC vehicle. The drive to Godkhali takes approximately 3.5 hours via the Basanti Highway, passing through the green countryside of South 24 Parganas. Breakfast and tea break en route at a local dhaba.
  • 11:00 AM: Arrive at Godkhali jetty. Your guide handles all permit formalities while you board the motorboat. The boat journey to the resort takes about 90 minutes, and as you leave the last village behind, the Sundarbans begins to reveal itself — mangrove-lined banks, the calls of kingfishers, and the vast expanse of tidal rivers.
  • 12:30 PM: Check in at the eco-resort. Welcome drink and a brief orientation from your guide about the 3-day plan, safety guidelines, and what wildlife to look for.
  • 1:00 PM: Lunch — your first taste of authentic Sundarban cuisine. Fresh river fish, Bengali dal, seasonal vegetables, rice, and sweets.
  • 3:00 PM: First boat safari to Bird Jungle (Pakhiralay). As the afternoon sun softens, the mangrove creeks come alive with birdlife. Spot kingfishers diving for fish, herons standing motionless in the shallows, and Brahminy kites circling overhead. Your guide points out different mangrove species, explains the tidal ecosystem, and shares local legends about the forest goddess Bonbibi.
  • 5:30 PM: Return to resort. Sunset over the river — one of the most photographed moments of any Sundarban trip.
  • 6:30 PM: Evening tea and snacks on the riverside.
  • 7:30 PM: Cultural program — local artists perform traditional tribal folk dances and Baul songs. These performances tell the stories of life in the Sundarbans — fishing, honey collection, and coexisting with tigers.
  • 8:30 PM: Dinner and bonfire (winter season). Early night to prepare for the dawn safari.

Day 2 — Full Day Deep Jungle Safari (The Big Day)

  • 5:30 AM: Wake up to birdsong. Early morning tea on the riverside.
  • 6:30 AM: Depart for the full-day safari. The early morning hours are prime time for tiger activity — this is when your chances are highest.
  • 7:30 AM: Sajnekhali Wildlife Sanctuary. Explore the watchtower, Mangrove Interpretation Centre, crocodile breeding centre, and turtle hatchery. The 360-degree view from the watchtower is spectacular at dawn.
  • 9:00 AM: Breakfast on the boat while cruising towards the core tiger zone.
  • 10:00 AM: Sudhanyakhali Watchtower — the most famous tiger spotting point in the Sundarbans. The watchtower overlooks a freshwater pond surrounded by grassland, where tigers, spotted deer, wild boars, and monitor lizards come to drink. Your guide knows exactly where to position and what signs to look for — pugmarks in the mud, alarm calls from deer, and the characteristic silence that falls over the forest when a tiger is near.
  • 11:30 AM: Dobanki Canopy Walk. Walk along the stunning 896-metre elevated wooden walkway, 20 feet above the forest floor. From this unique vantage point, you look down into the mangrove canopy, spotting deer, birds, and perhaps even a tiger moving through the undergrowth below.
  • 1:00 PM: Lunch on the boat — Bengali thali with fish, rice, dal, and vegetables.
  • 2:00 PM: Panchamukhani — the breathtaking point where five rivers meet. The sheer scale of water and forest here is humbling. Watch for Gangetic dolphins surfacing in the confluence.
  • 3:30 PM: Village walk in a local fishing community. Meet the people who live alongside tigers, learn about their daily lives, see traditional fishing nets and honey collection tools, and understand the human side of the Sundarbans.
  • 5:00 PM: Return to resort via a different creek route, maximising wildlife sighting opportunities.
  • 6:00 PM: Rest, freshen up, evening tea.
  • 7:30 PM: Second evening cultural performance — different artists, different stories. Bonfire and dinner.

Day 3 — Morning Exploration and Return to Kolkata

  • 6:00 AM: Optional nature walk near the resort. Many guests spot deer, monitor lizards, and various birds right from the resort grounds at dawn.
  • 7:00 AM: Breakfast at the resort.
  • 8:00 AM: Final boat safari — Netidhopani Watchtower area. Explore the ancient ruins and temple here, and enjoy one last chance for wildlife spotting in the creeks.
  • 10:30 AM: Return to resort. Pack up and checkout.
  • 11:00 AM: Boat to Godkhali jetty with a packed lunch for the road.
  • 12:30 PM: Board AC vehicle for the drive back to Kolkata.
  • 4:00 – 4:30 PM: Arrive in Kolkata. Tour concludes.

Why the 2N3D Package is Our #1 Recommendation

We have run hundreds of tours, and the feedback is consistent: guests who choose the 2 Nights 3 Days package have the most satisfying experience. Here is why:

  • Best tiger odds: Three days means three dawn safaris — the prime tiger-spotting time. Statistically, your chances of a sighting increase dramatically with each additional morning in the forest.
  • Complete coverage: You visit all four major watchtowers (Sajnekhali, Sudhanyakhali, Dobanki, Netidhopani), the canopy walk, Panchamukhani, and a local village. Shorter tours have to skip some of these.
  • No rushing: Unlike the 1-day or even 1N2D tours, the 2N3D package gives you time to soak in the atmosphere, wait patiently at watchtowers, and truly connect with the wilderness.
  • Cultural depth: Two evenings of cultural programs means you experience different aspects of Sundarban life — folk dances, Baul music, bonfire stories, and local cuisine.
