Located at the Dobanki camp of the Sundarban Tiger Reserve, the canopy walk was constructed by the forest department as a safe and immersive way for tourists to experience the deep forest without entering tiger territory on foot. The walkway is built with strong iron mesh and metal framework, elevated 10-15 feet above the forest floor, winding through sundri, gewa, and goran trees. Standing on the mesh, you can look directly down at the mudflats and tidal creeks where wildlife leaves fresh pug marks every morning.

There is also a watchtower at Dobanki that offers elevated views over the surrounding forest and river. • Wear Soft-Soled Shoes: The metal walkway can amplify footsteps. Soft shoes help you move quietly and improve your chances of spotting wildlife.
• Carry Binoculars: While the walkway brings you close to the canopy, binoculars help you scan the forest floor and distant mudflats for movement.
• Keep Your Camera Ready: Wildlife sightings happen quickly. Keep your camera on and at a fast shutter speed. A 200mm or 300mm lens is ideal.
